Having just seen Sweet Home Monteverde, I am sitting here uplifted by the vision, courage and portrayal of the original settlers as well as its conservation today. Seamlessly, the film switches back and forth throughout its history, intertwining how it came to be and continues to be with wondrous visuals of the land. What touches me the deepest is the spirit and forthrightness of its people in their telling of the joys and hardships of their community, and how they merged with the Costa Ricans while living by and remaining true to their convictions.
